President Margaret's 2021 Message

Resized_20170612_135439 1.jpgA Message from Margaret Thorpe Williamson, Chair and President of RAGCED 2021-23

Since becoming a member of the Rotary Action Group for Community Economic Development (RAGCED) during the 2017 Rotary International Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, I have had the pleasure to interact and serve with Rotarians who undertake projects and programs throughout the world by providing service, opportunity and assistance to enhance the quality of life of individuals and communities.

The Pandemic has created a unique opportunity for Rotarians to share their purpose, expertise and resources to assist communities as they recover and adapt to a changing and challenging future. Looking forward, the RAGCED Board will support the development of sustainable economic development projects of Rotary and Rotaract Clubs by providing:

• Information, technical assistance, virtual meetings
• Links to Rotary Clubs with community development projects and Global Grant Partners
• Business classes, Global Grant development, and financial literacy resources
• A forum for community development programs to share information

I encourage Rotaract and Rotary Clubs to collaborate and undertake projects and service programs that meet community needs through volunteerism, engagement, and social investment, and look forward to working with Rotarians and others to promote and support activities for community betterment.

If you are considering or involved in a community economic development project, please join us at www.ragced.org to create opportunity around the world through community economic development.
